Hello, summer! Don’t you love the lazy, hazy days of summer, when you can spend time with family and friends at the beach, lake, mountains, or even in your own backyard? As a native Floridian, I spent summers at the beach, and I still find it therapeutic to walk on the shore and listen to the waves roll in. Our coastal vacations today are a little more active with grands that want to build sandcastles and find treasures along the strand, but we are making memories that I know will be cherished for years. 

In this issue we showcase second homes, located in iconic settings with majestic views and plentiful amenities that are beautifully designed but also family friendly. 

In Kiawah, Margaret Donaldson allowed the sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean to inform the interiors for this family retreat. Designer Amy Adams created a whimsical retreat filled with color for her family to rewind and recharge in Sea Island. A Lake Oconee project took advantage of golf course views in this home designed by Maggie Griffin Interiors. Lucy Penfield amped up the color on this waterfront condo in Naples, and Cynthia Masters, Panageries delivered a stunning project that embraces nature for her clients on Lake Keowee. A Lake Rabun house designed by Pebbles Nix combines lake living with mountain views. 

Who doesn’t love porch swings? We highlight some of the newest offerings in porch swings/beds in On Trend, and Limoges boxes are the focus of Antiques Obsession. These tiny teasures are truly works of art with hidden details in the interior.
